Editorial policy
Everyday Civic Journal aims to make its subjects clear, fair and useful to general readers. We explain what a piece can establish, take care with uncertainty and keep editorial decisions distinct from commercial arrangements.
Accuracy and context
We check names, descriptions and factual statements against suitable sources before publication, and take care not to turn a partial example into a claim about every place. Where a point is uncertain or context-dependent, we say so. We do not present commentary as established fact.
Independence and corrections
Editorial choices are made for relevance to readers, not to secure favourable treatment for a partner. If a published piece contains a material error, readers can report it through the Contact page. We review correction requests and make an appropriate correction or clarification, with the change explained where it matters to readers.
Partnerships and labels
Paid or otherwise agreed partner material is identified clearly as partner material. Commercial relationships do not buy favourable editorial coverage, and editorial stories are not quietly altered to serve a partner.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with AI. Illustrations are not evidence of a real place or event; we aim to label AI-generated images clearly and avoid presenting them as documentary photographs.
