Write for us
Everyday Civic Journal welcomes thoughtful pitches about shared places, neighbourhood patterns, community customs, local services and gatherings. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article unless requested.
What makes a good pitch
Suggest one distinct subject, explain why it matters to curious readers, and describe the central question or idea the piece would explore. A strong pitch is specific enough to picture, broad enough to interest readers beyond one locality, and grounded in details that can be checked.
Useful approaches
We welcome explainers, comparisons, histories, myth-checking and occasion-based pieces when they offer a fresh angle on civic life. Please say which format you have in mind and note any relevant sources, images or potential limitations.
Before you send
Avoid pitches that depend on unverified claims, promote a service, or require readers to rely on professional advice or local rules. Include a short outline and a way for us to reply; proposals are sent through the Contact page.
